Internet is probably the biggest evidence that aliens don't exist.

If we assume that the universe is infinite in size and age, the probability that at least one civilisation in the universe developed a technology similar to ours at the same time as us is about 0% - and we could have been contacting them in the 50s.

Whoever has an internet connection, can communicate (and does) with all other people.

If we could communicate with other civilisations, we couldn't have reason to believe that we are alone in the universe.

Therefore we can't contact other civilisations.

I hope we'll still find a way to contact them.

Edit: this has nothing to do with the Fermi paradox, the solution to this problem is that no one is close enough to us to contact us while still being at the same "technology_ level" as us.

Edit2: who ever has an internet connection can contact any other person on the planet.

If we could communicate with other civilisations we would have an "intergalactic internet", and therefore we would be able to contact any other civilisation.

This would be the proof that we are not alone in the universe

Edit 3: the universe already hold proofs of alien life. We know this, and we would also know that they're still alive if we could contact them

Edit 4: pondering the meaning of life is interesting, but if you already knows the answer, it makes no sense to keep pondering it.

Edit 5: in my opinion, the universe can't be infinite, and therefore the probability that we are close enough to a civilisation to contact them is not 0%
