The most important thing that ever happens in a movie never actually happens

This thought was inspired by a movie I’m sure many of you have seen. If you haven’t, spoiler alert.

I think the most prominent example I found is the movie Avengers: Endgame

The whole movie centers around a very specific event: the snap that caused the mass Genocide of the people of Earth.

But the snap never actually happened.

It did, but it didn’t.

The snap did technically occur, but it never really happened.

You see, the snap only occurred because of Tony Stark.

Loki was attempting to steal the Tesseract, and had plans to destroy it.

But Tony Stark alternated the course of events in the first Avengers movie by allowing Loki to bring the Tesseract to Earth and giving him access to the lab containing it in the first place.

The snap never would have actually happened if Tony Stark had done the right thing.

Tony Stark is the actual reason the snap occurred:

*Tony Stark is why the Tesseract was there*

*Tony Stark is why Loki was there*

*Tony Stark is why Loki had access to the lab*

*Tony Stark is why the Chitauri were there*

*Tony Stark is why Loki was able to steal the Tesseract*

This means that the reason the snap happened is entirely because of Tony Stark.

The snap never would have happened if Tony Stark wasn’t there, and never would have happened without Tony Stark.

But that’s the whole premise of the Avengers movies.

Tony Stark constantly screws up and makes everything worse, but he doesn’t ever intend to.

Tony Stark was never actually a good person, he just did the right thing at the right time.

That’s what the whole plot of Endgame is about.

This is what makes Stark such a wonderful character.

He finds the right way to get himself out of trouble every time.

He messes up trying to fix it, but never stops trying.

And in the end, it’s because of him that the Genocide never happened.

Tony Stark is the reason the Genocide was never Genocide.

Tony Stark was the reason there was no Genocide.

There was never Genocide, because Tony Stark was there.

And in the end, that was a good thing.
