Choking on food (or anything else) is the only illness/injury where it's socially acceptable for random people to do anything to save you.

In school, we were always warned that if we ever hurt ourselves or feel sick to the point where we need help, we should never ask random classmates for anything like medicine, food, etc. because that person could poison us, slip us something, etc. If we ever feel sick or hurt, we need to go to a trusted adult, like a teacher, principal, cafeteria worker, etc.<br><br>But if someone is choking on food, its always like "Oh Jeebus Christ, do the Heimlich maneuver on them. Don't you know you could save a life?"<br><br>But what if the food was drugged? Never really heard of this, but I could envision a situation where someone puts K2 in food, the eater chokes on it, a good Samaritan comes over and tries the Heimlich, and then the food comes out and the good guy inhales the fumes.
