I unwittingly stole someone’s man.

I 20F met my ex bf 23M last year during lockdown. I actually connected with him on Bumble Bff before he asked me out. So before we started chatting, his message said, “I saw you were into skateboarders, but I assure you I won’t hurt myself”. I was immediately smitten with him. We had so much in common (music, movies, tv shows, etc) and I loved his dark humor. <br><br>Anyway on to the confession. On our second date, he took me to this artsy coffee shop. I was really nervous and just felt super awkward. I actually think I might’ve gotten a little too comfortable with him early on bc I have a tendency to do/say anything to make people like me and it usually backfires on me. <br><br>He was really close with one of the workers there and she was one of the ones serving us that day. They talked for a little and I kind of zoned out (anxiety) and then she went on her way. When she came back she said, “I was wondering when I’d meet you.” And I felt really awkward. We talked for maybe a minute and then she went on her way again. <br><br>Anyway we continued seeing each other. I met some of his friends and they were all nice. His sister even showed me around the mall one day. <br><br>Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I was stalking his Twitter (I know, I’m pathetic) and I saw one of his tweets was liked by a girl I’d never seen before. And he was following her too. So I clicked on her profile and she was the coffee shop girl. <br><br>I looked at her tweets and she had tweeted about how excited she was to meet an ex’s gf. Then I saw one from a few weeks ago about how she found out he had broken up with me. Then she tweeted, “I’m finally free to date the one who got away”. <br><br>I honestly didn’t know how to feel. It hurt but I also felt kind of good like I’d unknowingly caused drama. If that makes sense.<br><br>Edit: the tweet was literally posted on the day he broke up with me so that’s probably about the time she found out.
