I always leave a note on my car after parking it, explaining to the meter why I'm there and the length of my stay.

I've been waiting weeks for a response, but my entire neighborhood has been abandoned and I don't see a point in leaving.

[For context, this is based off of an old idea I had where the parking meters have names and are entire entities with their own little society. They're not human, but they're not really 'creepy' either as they don't harm anyone. They display a bit of human psychology mixed with the capabilities of your average parking meter. You might need to imagine the world this is set in to make it scary. I see it as a mix of a small town in 1950's suburban America, combined with a mix of old technology and a slight steampunk aesthetic.]
