Philosophy may never actually answer any questions, but it will help you ask better ones.

This just occurred to me. I study philosophy and a common misconception is that if you take it you're going to figure everything out. Not necessarily. What it really helps you do is see how little we actually know and how complicated the questions we have about the world really are. Much of philosophy just raises more questions than it answers, helps you find the gaps in your own logic, or makes you see things from a new perspective.
