LPT: if you have an unusual facial feature, or a birthmark, own it! You will be so much more beautiful if you stop trying to hide it

I have a friend who has a black spot on her face. I immediately thought it was makeup to start with, but when I realised it was a birthmark, I really started to like it. It made her so unique and it really suited her. She had a big problem with it though. She felt like it made her ugly, she had to hide it with thick makeup, she even wanted to get it lasered off. Even though it suited her so much, she was still convinced it was ugly.

On another unrelated note, I have a co worker who has really big lips. She looks like an absolute angel, and so unique, beautiful. She thinks they are ugly, and she talks about how she wishes she had smaller lips like everyone else. People this creates an excuse for yourself, “I would be beautiful if only this feature I have was gone”. It’s actually the other way around. You don’t love yourself, and you’re using this feature as an excuse. Every feature you have makes you more beautiful, because they make you you.

A lot of people would kill to have lips like angelina jolie. I would kill to have a birthmark like my friend.

If you have something like this, please don’t let people online tell you that it’s ok, you are excused from having to feel beautiful. You don’t need an excuse, you will always be beautiful. Every feature you have is beautiful, and if you didn’t have that feature you would be less beautiful. Maybe you just need to stop scrolling on insta and see yourself as you really are.
