I lied to a blind man to get him off my back.

This may not be the most mature thing I've done, but I just confessed to my girlfriend and she didn't find it as amusing as I did so I'm hoping you guys at Chambers can appreciate my sense of humour.

There was this blind guy that rides on the bus I take to work every morning. He has a bit of a stutter, and the bus driver gives him a card, a FREE bus pass, to help him out. Anyways every day he rides the bus he goes up to the driver and says "T-t-ticket pleeease." and shows the driver the card. So the driver is pretty cool and he always says to him good morning blind man and then he lets him on. I don't know how long this goes on, a few months atleast.

One day I get on the bus and I hear "t-ticket pleeeeease" and I hear the bus driver yell back "OH SHUT THE FUCK UP BLIND GUY." So I'm going to the back of the bus and I'm thinking this guy is an asshole. I'm going to tell the blind guy he's a prick. I'm not sure why, but I get on the bus and I say to him "You know, he isn't always a prick but he is in a lot of pain today. His girlfriend left him, and he broke his back. He might yell sometimes, but he doesn't mean to." The blind guy is confused, and he asks me what he said to him and I tell him "he said have a good day blind man" The blind guy just kind of accepts that and I take my seat.

The next few days I ride the bus the blind guy gets on and the driver yells back "SHUT THE FUCK UP BLIND GUY" So I'm just going to assume that he was in pain. But then one day he stops by my work, and I say good morning to him as I'm leaving and he says "oh good morning blind man" So my little lie had saved this blind guy from the wrath of the bus driver, but I had to keep up the lie.

I rode that bus for another 5 years, and I never told him the truth. He would always stop by and chat with me about my day and I would always be kind to him. I had to work hard everyday to keep him from finding out what the bus driver said to him the rest of those days. But I was happy that I could help him keep his spirits up. I'm glad I continued the lie, because even though I had to suffer, that blind guy didn't.
