Being a shy adult is much better than being a shy kid

That realization came to me after seeing my nephew, who is 15. He is a smart, gentle, sweet and polite kid, but also very shy. He struggles to talk to anyone, he never made friends, he is alone all the time, he's too stressed to be around other people. I know he suffers from all this but he can't help it. He is alone since he was a kid and for someone like him, going to high school is hell. Walking alone, eating alone, sitting alone in the classroom and so on. <br><br>As an adult, I can work from home, I don't have to go to school, I can do everything by myself, every day if I want. I am not forced to be around people. Sometimes my heart aches looking at my nephew, he's just a child who deserves a better life.
