I (M43) have a great wife (41) and daughter (F17) and son (M14) and I love all of them more than life itself. I also love my Mum (F69) and Dad (M71) and my sister (F45) and brother (M48).

Sad as it may seem, I will never meet most of them. I was there for the births of my children, but not the conception of myself or my siblings.

These are the people I love the most, but I only met four of the eight of them and only knew two when they were babies.

I will never meet my Dad or my Mum when they were my age, or younger. I'll never meet my Gran or my Grandad. I'll never meet myself as a teenager. I'll never meet my great-granddad, who slept through the battle of the Somme. I'll never meet my other Great Grandad who was there at the opening of the Great Exhibition in 1851 (and who also slept through another battle, but in the Penninsular War this time).

I'll meet my grandchildren, assuming I make it to 70+, and I'll meet more of my friends' children when they grow up, but I'll only meet a handful of people in my entire life.
