Stop buying your partner expensive gifts. It will actually improve them

My wife goes out of her way to buy me the most thoughtful gifts that I’ve never thought of. She is very intuitive and will remember almost everything about me and always knows what I want. Before every birthday and Christmas she is stressed because she doesn’t want to fail at gift giving. <br><br>My wife would much rather spend a weekend camping than at the mall with her friends so she’s not good at picking out gifts. She thought of this idea after her friend was gifted a very expensive coat from her husband. The coat was something that she had always wanted but after she received it, she felt that she had not “earned it” or “deserved it” and she never wears it. <br><br>Instead my wife tells me what she wants me to achieve that year and what she wants me to buy myself with the money we would have used on gifts. It’s a win win. No more stressing about what to get each other and an added bonus of achieving something that will improve us.
