I don’t usually tell this story because it’s shameful but it’s been too long now, I think I can get away with it.

When I was 15 years old my best friend and I would go to a different laundromat in town than usual and steal every single quarter from the change machine. We had a method down that no one is ever there and the owners chill in their office all day so we would fill our bags so much that they were bursting with quarters and leave with it.

We did this for months, until I got my first car and we had a whole backseat full of change. I went to a lot of banks with it and finally one didn’t ask questions and I was able to deposit it into my account. That was the funniest day ever because I had to go to the atm and take out $1000 dollars every 30 minutes because that was the max I could do in one transaction and couldn’t leave it in a bank. I had 12,000 dollars in my car that day, overwhelmed, laughing and crying.

I don’t know if I should be proud of it because it’s a crazy story or be ashamed of it but it definitely taught me a big lesson. I am now very successful and make a good amount of money and would never go back to doing that but it’s definitely a story for the books.
