I killed a cat and threw its dead body in a dumpster in front of the cat's owner, a little girl who I forced to watch while I did it.

When I was a teenager, my step-mom was a terrible alcoholic and drug addict. She would get blackout drunk every night and would go on tirades and rants for hours, making it impossible for anyone in the house to sleep. She would then wake me up in the morning before school and call me lazy for sleeping in. Many nights I would sneak out of the house, go for a walk, and walk around the neighborhood until it was time to go to school in the morning. I didn't have any friends in the small town we lived in, so these late night walks were my only escape from the animosity that was always waiting for me at home, whether it was a night of alcoholic verbal abuse from my step-mom or angry, sleep-deprived parents at 7 am asking why I didn't have a job and get up to rake the leaves. During this time in my life, I essentially felt like an abused dog that was also being forced to work for food that I was never given. I am sure it looked like I had a normal upbringing to most people, but in reality my life was a living hell.

One night while walking, I saw a cat caught under a bush. It was caught by something, but I don't remember what it was, probably a piece of string or something. The cat was struggling and trying to back up, so I came up behind it and killed it with a rock. I then picked it up, held the cat upside down, and threw it in a dumpster. A little girl was standing nearby, and I remember she was looking at me with a mixture of horror and confusion on her face. As I turned around to look at her, she said "That was my cat! Why did you throw it in the dumpster?" I didn't say anything, I just walked away down the street and didn't look back.
