Even though I was alone in my apartment, I always kept my phone next to me. I didn’t want to miss the call from my mom that would save my life.

This story came to me after recently hearing about the murder of Maren Sanchez. I can’t verify whether or not this is true, but from what I heard, in 2014 a sophomore named Maren Sanchez was stabbed to death at her school in Connecticut. She was a victim of a rejected crush. She was stabbed multiple times in the class room, and died later that day in the hospital. What was found on her phone were multiple calls to her mom. The police belief is that she thought that if she couldn’t get to a teacher, she could call her mom and blow the whistle. I hope that her story isn’t true, but if it is, I’m very sorry that it had to end like this.

EDIT: Her story is true. She was stabbed multiple times at school by classmate Jonathan Law High School classmate Christopher Plaskon. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Christopher Plaskon was convicted of murder in the first degree as an adult and received a 25 year sentence. This story does not say whether or not she had called her mom before her death.

EDIT 2: This was marked as NSFW, I think it’s because of the word “stabbed”. If anyone has a problem with the story, please let me know and I will fix it somehow.
