I lied to my mom to spend the night at my friends house and she called me out on it.

I was about 13 or 14 and was single parented by my mom at the time. She had a rule where I could only spend the night at a friend’s house if they had a parent present, because in her mind a friend just left alone at home by their parents was not supervision enough since the friend could invite someone over who I didn’t know. So, my friend’s mom had gone out of town for the weekend and explained to my mom that she was comfortable with me spending the night there with her and his sister as long as she knew about it ahead of time. I told her the friend’s mom had come back in town and was home. I couldn’t even send my mom pictures of my friends mom because she had taken a trip to the beach and had been working on her tan the whole time there and was considerably darker than when she left. My mom called his house and his mom wasn’t there, and she basically called me out on lying to her. She knew that I was doing it for a good reason, but she told me never to lie to her. I got in a lot of trouble, but it was worth it. I never did something like that again, but this is the only time in my life that I’ve ever lied to my mom.
