I lied about the reason I broke up with my boyfriend, but for the right reasons

I recently broke up with my boyfriend of about 2 years and surprisingly, my 16 year old cousin seemed very mature about it. She's slightly overweight and thinks really lowly of herself and I do my best to make her feel better when we see each other (she only lives a town over).<br><br>She asked me if she could ask why I broke up with him. I really didn't want to tell her it was because she was too fat. She asked multiple times and I finally just told her something like "He said it wasn't working out for him and I think it was for the best and now I'm happy." I told her I was now happy to change the subject and to make sure that the breakup didn't really affect her. I'm glad I lied to her bc it made me and her feel better.
