I work at NASA as a janitor. I just saw an email from a top official meant for some other top officials that really freak me out.

(I don’t work at NASA, this is just a roleplay of what I’ve imagined it would be like. My dad was a high up official at NASA and always said he didn’t like talking about it because it gave him anxiety. I don’t know anything more about his day to day life than that)

It had just been a regular night at work. I cleaned all the offices and then went through the hallways, picking up trash and sweeping. At 10 PM, I got to the break room to take a little break and saw someone had left their laptop sitting out. I picked it up, figuring I would return it, and it wasn’t even locked. Figuring I’d look through it and see if I could find who it was, I opened it and saw a notification of an unread email. It was pretty simple, from one of the head scientists at the facility, addressed to a bunch of other high up people, and entitled, “We Will be Moving Forward with the Human Experiment Soon.” I opened it, bringing it to the top of the page so it wouldn’t look like I had opened it.

It was a basic email asking everyone to confirm that they were comfortable doing the live test and that the already collected data was enough to move forward. I have no goddamn idea what it was about, but I’m going to ask some of the other janitors that have been working there longer than me if they’ve heard anything, I’m scared enough to where I know I won’t be able to sleep tonight.
