If you are chubby or a bit overweight, you probably have ups and downs where you gain and lose fat and you probably have an idea in your head what is "healthy" and what is "unhealthy" foods. If you have a history of disordered eating, if you have a lot of stress in your life, or if you have a lot of other factors contributing to disordered eating, you have to be very careful if you start making rules around food, or if you want to make radical changes in the way you eat.<br><br>Going on drastic diets, or banning certain foods can often lead to very restrictive eating patterns that may resemble eating disorders like anorexia nervosa or orthorexia. <br>Restrictive eating can trigger feelings of deprivation and cravings for the forbidden foods, which can lead to binge eating, guilt, and shame cycles.<br>The restrictions can also lead to social isolation, anxiety, and depression, and unnecessary eliminations can lead to nutrient deficiencies, health complications, and a disordered relationship with food and your body.<br><br>Instead of cutting things out, try to talk to a registered dietitian or a therapist. Eating disorders are extremely hard to treat and the sooner you get help, the better.
