If you’re an older post-secondary student, be prepared to get referred to as your children’s mom when you’re older

Look. I’m 26 and currently attending a post-secondary program, and even during my first semester, I’m just treated like a mom by these young 18-25 year olds. It’s just how it is. Even when I’m 50 I’ll be getting called mom by these 20-something year olds and I’m okay with that. It’s a hard pill to swallow to be called ma’am by a 22 year old at that age, and then to be called mom a couple of years down the line. It’s hard, but you will get through it.
