If you're in the military, do not say that you're in the military

Usually, people that say they're in the military usually are in for the wrong reasons. They want to stand out, they want to feel better than everyone else.

Just don't do it. If someone asks you what your job is, that's fine. But most of the time, it's not necessary. It's not fun to announce that you're in the military. The type of person who likes to do this usually will get an attitude if you don't respond nicely to their announcement.

Also, shun those that say 'this is Sam, the Sam that served this great nation.'

EDIT: Holy sh*t Sam, this blew up.

EDIT 2: I'd love to see a survey on how many people here actually are in the military, because by the looks of it, it's a lot.

EDIT 3: Just because you'd never do it, doesn't mean that there isn't a huge amount of people who do it. Saying that you've never met a vet Sam that does this doesn't mean there aren't any.
