This is an update to my previous post about stealing $8,300. I never intended on making this second post. However, my friend and I were finally caught and fired. We are still under investigation for the actual amount stolen, but it looks like our supervisor was the one who blew our cover. He was acting suspicious, but we could already tell he didn't like us from the start. We found out from another coworker that he was the one who told management about it.

I'm 26 years old and am a journeyman electrician. I have been casually stealing electrical wire for 8 years and using it on side jobs. This includes residential, commercial, and large industrial facilities. I have never been caught. There have been countless times where I have already clocked out, and the work is not done. I end up hanging around after work, just finishing the job for the customer (with their permission), then gave them a separate invoice for the overtime worked.

I have also been in jobs where the work load was unusually high, and overtime was approved. I would work on side jobs while on the clock, and then take the wire and electrical equipment home. There have been instances where I stole hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from Home Depot, while working on a job that was contracted by them. As long as I got everything done on time and satisfied the customer, we never had any issues.

I have worked with the same electrical contractor for 8 years and have already graduated to a project manager role and then a general foreman role. Customers and coworkers love me, and I was already making good money. So, why bother with stealing? I have no idea. I was already making a good living, and this money was on top of my salary anyway. I guess you can say this is my escapism.

My friend was also in on the scheme, and he is the one who got me into it. He is already a master electrician with over 15 years of experience. He is in charge of ordering supplies and materials for our projects, and our boss usually doesn't bother looking over the receipts. He would sometimes order more supplies than needed, and then take it home. I would just carry it in my truck, and install the wiring, devices, equipment, etc.

I have already used everything I have stolen for these side jobs and already made over $100,000 in profit off of it. I never had any issues, and I was always able to cover my tracks. Customers were satisfied, and my company didn't lose any money from it. I was also able to provide jobs to other people who worked for me.

My friend and I were confronted by our boss last week and he admitted that he already knew about our scheme. He already did an audit of the supplies ordered over the years and knows exactly how much we have stolen. He already reported it to the authorities, and they are in the process of opening an official case against us.

We were let go immediately and our licenses were also flagged. I am most likely going to lose my license over this, and possibly face felon charges. This is the first time I've been in trouble for stealing, and I already know that I have a problem. My friend is going through the same thing.

I never thought I would get caught, but here I am. I already spent all the money I have made and never invested a single penny. Most of it went to partying, and unnecessary purchases.

EDIT:

Wow, this blew up! I'm glad I could entertain all of you. I have to say, you guys have some wild imaginations lol. The actual amount stolen is not as much as I claimed. My friend and I are just waiting for our court dates.

AND PLEASE STOP MESSAGE ME ABOUT WIRING YOUR HOUSE. I DID NOT EXPECT THIS KIND OF RESPONSE AND I AM NOT TRYING TO SOLICIT ANYTHING ILLEGAL.
