If you’re flying and someone has a seat in the middle between you and another person, ask to buy it from them

So I was flying with a good friend and we found out we were next to each other on a flight. There was a guy between us who was sitting in the middle seat. He was alone and not with anyone. He said he was going home. We asked him how much it would take for him to switch with one of us so we could sit together. The guy said 20 dollars and we said sure. <br><br>Now I know it’s not like we were gonna see each other ever again probably. But that 20 dollar investment was monumental. We ended up hanging out at the airport bar while waiting to board. He ended up introducing us to his co-workers who work at a major airline and got us free first class upgrades to our next destination. <br><br>We exchanged numbers after the trip and he ended up bringing us to a couple of parties in the city. One of them was with his airline co-workers again and we got to hang out with a couple of hot flight attendants (not in a creepy way, just nice people). <br><br>Anyway, just a small example of life. But definitely buy someone out if you have the chance.
