30 years ago, my best friend and I decided it was too hard to work a job and go to high school at the same time, so we decided to quit our job and make a copy of a movie to sell at school. The movie was a major film from a major director that had released the year before but was not out on VHS yet. We didn't know how we were going to get a copy of it so we decided to create a fake camera out of a cardboard box and steal a copy. We spent hours in a department store filming it with the box, constantly almost getting caught. We finally had the movie on film and sold 50 tapes of it. We were millionaires for a 16 year olds, at least in my opinion. We were caught by a teacher who used one of the tapes in a classroom and the school found out we were the culprits. I had a meeting with my principal and he stated I was going to jail. He took my VHS tape from me and told me to come back the next day. I spent the night scared to death. The next day I came back, and he told me he watched the tape and really liked it and the quality was good. He said the tape was good quality and he knew the director from his hometown. A few days later I was told I was not getting kicked out. I never even had a detention.
