I've stolen food every time I go to one of my friends houses

I have a friend who grocery shops for himself and his brother. He works very hard for his money and doesn't often go out to eat, and has no problem with me eating his food. I don't often have money for food myself and we always hang out at his house so I know I'll be able to eat when I get there. <br><br>One night, he was out at a friends house for a bit and his brother was in his room. I was in the kitchen alone and I had just filled my purse up with as much food as I could carry. My friend came home, and my first thought was that he saw me. I was so scared I started to cry. I ran to the washroom and then left his house. <br><br>I don't think I've ever felt so ashamed. I could have been kicked out of his house over something so stupid. I wouldn't have blamed him because he's told other people not to eat his food before. <br><br>He didn't see me. He thought something else was going on and apologized. I don't know if I'll ever tell him. I don't think I will honestly. <br><br>I still steal food sometimes but now I only take things I know he doesn't want. <br><br>EDIT: To clarify, when I steal food, I'm always there hanging out, and it's usually snacks. Never full meals. I only took what was considered "junk food" when I filled my bag. And when I say "I don't think he'll ever know" I mean I don't think he'll ever know I filled a bag with food . He knows I take food now and then.
