My friends used to get a kick out of watching me go on dates with anyone that asked me out while in college

I was a very fat girl in college, and a few of my friends thought it would be funny to watch me go on dates. They would reply to my tinder matches and set things up, usually at a fast food restaurant or something, and would listen in on the conversations from the car nearby while laughing. I had no idea at the time that a group of dudes were listening in on the dates. The dates would usually only last like 15-20 minutes before the person would bail exclaiming they weren't sure it was for them, and speed off. I thought I was just really bad at dating lol until one time I had set up a date for myself and I invited my group of dumb friends to come along and listen in. After the date, they told me they had been accompanying me on all of my dates for a while now and that exclaiming "it wasn't for them" was pretty much code for "I didn't know you were this fat". I was mortified and didn't really date for a while after that.
