I'm a paramedic. The most terrifying call I've had was for a 14 year old suicidal girl.

We got to her location, and when we entered her room, we found her dead on the floor. My training kicked in and even though she was clearly gone, I started CPR and my partner bagged her. EMS was in the next room, talking to the parents, who were in absolute hysterics.

I started feeling resistance on the chest, which is normal, and suddenly the girl opened her eyes and looked directly at me. She started moaning, then whispering "Get off me." in a really deep voice. I continued doing CPR, ignoring her request and looked at my partner, who had full on tears in her eyes. I thought she was just upset about not being able to save this young girl, but when I looked again at the girl, she was fully awake and sitting up now. She started whispering my name, in that same deep voice, which freaked me out even more because how she knew my name. Then she grabbed my face and kissed me. I could feel something going down my throat and I guess I passed out. My partner found me on the floor when the police got there. The girl was gone, and so were the parents. I never heard anything about that call again.

It's been 8 years since that incident, but sometimes when I'm alone, I can still feel her hand on my face and hear her whisper my name.
