A company saying they are “black owned” or “woman owned” is 99% of the time a way to get a contract from the government.

This is an awful practice that has been normalized. I’ve seen companies with 0 employees change their ownership so they can get a contract to paint something. They hire a company to do it and give them the contract. It’s just a money making scam.
