Forced gay men's social to be shut down

I forced a gay social meeting to be shut down. 5 years ago I scanned a poster for a gay social meeting, basically a group of gay men getting together to watch a movie, and I was completely unaware that I was wrong by acknowledging this online. I posted the poster online, completely unaware of the gay culture of social meetings. Apparently, it is private and a completely unofficial event. The poster contained names of the hosts, and address. I posted it on a mostly gay chamber, with a few straight people sprinkled in, and it snowballed. The hosts received a ton of calls from people they didn't know, and they had to shut down the event and received a ton of judgement.<br><br>I later received a message from one of the hosts saying "Why did you do this?". I freaked out and ghosted them. I'm still actually super fuckin embarrassed about it, and I hope they're doing ok. I was totally ignorant to the situation, but that's no excuse. I still think about this from time to time.<br><br>Edit: I don't know if I'm allowed alternate accounts, but I created a throwaway to say that I'm not gay, but I have a fascination with gay sexuality. I sometimes visit gay spaces with the intention of intruding, but not maliciously. I'm from a community that is hostile to gay people, so I'm basically closeted gay-curious. But I'm married.
