When you lift weights, especially benchpress, you learn how to safely lift people with a barbell on top of them off the ground.

That's a useful skill in an emergency (e.g. a car crash) where you need to lift debris off of people and you can't wait for professionals to arrive.

I'm not saying you can just casually lift a whole car, but if you lift 80kg for 3 sets of 8 reps to the chest it's realistic to lift 600-800kg 5-10cm if you have 2-3 people on each corner, which can be enough to get it off of someone.

Obviously, don't lift anything you can't handle, and don't lift anything that might fall and hurt you after you lift it.

But if you can lift the weight, it might save someone's life.
