I stole hundreds of dollars as a kid in shop

When I was about 12 or 13 I would steal random things from grocery stores, mostly candy and sweets. I would do this every time I went, as the owner didn’t really care about shoplifting and security never paid attention, so I could steal things right under their noses. I did this for years and was never caught. I remember some weeks were bad and I would usually only steal a small bag of potato chips or something but sometimes if I knew I had money, I could buy the bigger and more expensive items in the shop, like a giant chocolate bar, a big tub of ice cream or a 2Liter of soda, and I would steal something big, like a milk crate full of chocolate chip cookies or a box of candy (the kind of boxes that weight about 5 pounds and cost $50). Once I knew the owner didn’t pay attention to the pictures from the security cameras, that just fueled the amount I took and took more often. I feel a bit bad as the owner was nice, and I was scratching a shoplifting itch, but the owner was also very rich and was just storing the money in the back room in a big chest.
