How to handle a door to door salesman.

Every time a door to door salesman comes to my door I invite them in and have a seat. I tell them I am excited about learning more about their product but first I have to finish getting ready for work and ask them to make themselves comfortable and wait for me to finish up. (Sometimes I even offer them a glass of water or something to drink). By the time I am done getting ready and come back to finish talking to them they are gone. Strange. <br><br>Edit: I realize that for some people this is not a life pro tip. But for those of you who are introverted and hate talking to people this should help. <br><br>Edit 2: I do this because I have been in sales and I know how difficult it is. The last thing I want to do is crush someones spirit and make their job more difficult.
