How did out of shape 40 year olds remove the 150 pound cast iron bathtub without scalding hot water, running water, or tools?

I don't know if I could do it with running water, a dolly, a few friends, and tools now. This showerthought out of out of shape 40 year olds removed full bathtubs out of houses in the 30s, 40s, and 50s without running water, cars, modern tools, or modern equipment. Hell, how did they even get them into the houses?
