I stole the entire cash register at a store I used to work at.

I used to work at this one store for about 2 years. One day I was working a shift with a coworker, but it was …… during a time with no customers. So my coworker was in the back room taking a nap. I decided I would steal the cash register that was full of cash. I took it in my car and went to the park and opened it up and took out all the cash and threw the register in the trash. I didn’t think anyone would find out that I stole it because the camera system was down. But they eventually found out by looking through the footage of the camera in the parking lot and they saw me carrying it to my car. They confronted me and I told them I was just taking it outside to count it. They asked me why I took the whole register outside to count it and not just the cash and I was like “I don’t know”. Then my manager was like “No, you’re just gonna do your job like normal and if you steal anything I’m gonna call the police on you”. I was not fired from this job.
