You can save a lot of money on medical bills by having a clerk read it to you before paying it

We had a $500 ER visit bill that was processed incorrectly and the software didn't catch it. If I didn't ask the clerk to read each line of the bill and its description, we would have paid a lot more than we owed. If I didn't ask, they would have let us pay the full $500.

Edit: I'm glad this got a lot of upvotes! The best part of Chambers is giving people helpful advice. I'm going to be paying medical bills for a while so if anyone else wants tips, I'll be happy to provide them.
