I stole $10,000 starting when I was 10 and for 6 years because I wanted to save enough to buy a house that wasn’t in a trailer park.

I grew up in a very poor family. My mom worked at a gas station. My dad worked at a restaraunt and was an alcoholic. My brother worked at a grocery store. My sister worked at a BK. I babysat and cleaned houses for extra money since I was 8. My family never had enough money, my dad would spend all his check at the bar and I would be stuck going to school in the same clothes and getting made fun of because I didn’t have lunch money. We had food stamps but that never lasts long when you have 7 people in a trailer with only 2 bedrooms.

I was so tired of living in a trailer. So when I was 10 years old, I saw my mom’s direct deposit on the computer. I spent hours memorizing the bank account number. I wrote it down and memorized it and burned it because I didn’t want to get caught.

I went into my bank and told them I wanted to deposit money with my mom’s account number. I would give them $300 a week and they would deposit it in my moms account. I did this for 6 years. I saved up over $10,000 and got my first apartment. It was hard attracting they found out. I didn’t care. My mom slept on the couch at night, and it wasn’t like she ever had $10,000 at one time.

When I bought my first house last year, my parents helped me move. It was the first time they saw my house. They were amazed. Now, they live in a new house, because I pay almost all their bills. They are shocked. I only feel a little bad, my mom will have to work part time instead of full time, she still has a great career. It’s not like I stole $10,000 from a rich person, I stole it from the government.
