I got my 12-year-old daughter high off a thc gummy without her knowing and the earliest she is eligible to get her drivers license is 16.

I’ve had an edible for 8 months that I forgot about. It was a .5mg gummy, and I thought it would be a good time to get rid of it. I had been worried about my cat getting into it (I have a cat who has a history of getting into drugs) so I decided to just eat it. After I ate it I started to feel a little high. I have no tolerance at all so I knew this would be a ‘trip’ for me. After I got high I remembered I had promised to pick up my daughter from a play date at a certain time. I was already running on fumes from a long day at work, and the short drive to go pick her up would be fine. She didn’t even notice I was high when she got in the car and I was able to drive her home, but then when she started rambling about something a character in one of her shows did I didn’t have the energy to pretend like I was listening, so I just tuned her out. She then asked what was going on and I told her I was a bit drunk. She asked what I was drinking and I told her it was wine. She didn’t even question it. I was driving, and she didn’t seem to suspect a thing. She could have had a car crash, a heart attack, or anything else that would be considered an emergency and she wouldn’t have been able to react. She would have let anything happen to her because she had no idea I was high. This trip made me realize that I need to teach my daughter how to drive as soon as possible. We play a lot of driving games on her console so I’m sure she already knows how to drive, but now I’ve seen how important it is for her to learn asap.
