Am I the only one who loves aeroplane food?

Yes, I know it's not gourmet. Yes, I know the packets are small. Yes, I know the lack of air pressure is fucking up your sinuses.

But I love it. There's just something I can't quite describe about eating in an airplane. It's the experience. The whole thing. The flight attendants tell you to sit, stand, and buckle up, they tell you to turn your phone on airplane mode, they tell you to take off your headphones.

The person next to me on my last flight told me to turn it down.

I had a hot chicken curry with vegetables and rice. (Yes, vegan options are horrifically bad and I'm not vegan anyway) I had a little bottle of white wine.

Then the flight attendants go through the plane with tiny little trolleys and tidy everything up, picking up your disposable cutlery.

And a few hours later, it's like magic. You're somewhere else.

The food is delicious, and the aeroplane food experience is like no other. You will be checked at every single step. But I love it.

Am I the only one?

Edit: wow! Thanks for all the replies! I didn't expect this (wow!)

The flight I was talking about was from Honduras to the USA. So it was not first class. It was a typical economy seat.

Thanks all!

Edit 2: I didn't know aeroplane food was so divisive. Thanks for all the love!

And thank you for sharing all your own experiences. I've sat in first class twice in my life, and it was good but not my thing.

I've had plenty of bad experiences, but only one that stands out as a real complaint. We flew from Italy to London one time, and I couldn't eat anything on the menu so I was told that I could have "Chicken or pasta!"

They gave me a chicken breast with no seasoning and some plain pasta. When I asked if I could have tomato sauce with the plain noodles, they told me that no, the tomato sauce was only for the pasta (which came with tomato sauce).

Edit 3: some people are saying the title is clickbait. Sorry! I do like the food, partly because it's part of the experience.

I once flew from Florida to Jamaica. It was a 1 hour flight, and they served a hot meal. I think it was chicken, rice, and beans. And a Kit Kat bar.
