My dog has no social skills and I'm convinced she's anti-social.

I have a 4yo pitbull, adopted at 2, who has always been super skittish around other dogs. She loves people and loves treats and loves being around other dogs as long as they are calm and chill and she has her personal space. But if one dog is excited, jumpy, or just a little too energetic, she doesn't stand a chance. She pisses herself, licks everyone on the face, freezes every inch of her body, and asks to take her to the safe spot (that's what I call the car). It's the most embarrassing shit ever. It used to piss me off, but lately, I'm realising she's not a dog park dog and she's fine with that. She's happy playing with me and her 2 cats for a whole day. She has dog friends and I guess that makes us both feel like we've achieved something.

So, while she's not a total loner and loves me like I'm the centre of her universe, I'm really convinced she's anti-social and I like to entertain myself by imagining what her internal monologue would be if she could speak to us like we understand.

Imagine if your dog is the awkward introverted kid at school who, when you asked them why they play alone, they just shrug and take another bite of their sandwich and continue playing. That's my girl.

In real life, she's a bit clumsy sometimes or accidentally knocks into other dogs and when they are excited, she apologises with licks and by allowing them to play with her toys.
