What is the impact to philosophy and science if the Megalodon shark turns out to be seen in waters off Florida?

I do not mean; what are the implications for fishing and tourism in the state of Florida. The question is more about the general nature of knowledge and truth. How do we come to know truth? I was taught it is through observation and then experimentation. We know the Megalodon shark is extinct because we have not observed it in modern times, and we have conducted experiments on the shark's teeth and fossils and determined them to be from an extinct lineage. This could be similar to how we know there are no unicorns (so far anyways...). UNLESS while filming a television program, a Megalodon shark is filmed and photographed from a boat off Florida, and the images are verified by experts to be authentic.

What are the implications of such a scenario?
