I never thought I’d be the person to post something like this on here. Usually I’m the guy who posts something and then it’s just a bunch of comments like “This is just a normal true crime podcast episode” or “this is a common trope in many stories”.

But I think this is real.

A 12 year old girl in my hometown is missing. No one knows what happened to her and they’re still searching for her. She’s been missing for 8 days now, and I’m getting really worried that she’s not going to be okay.

I want to preface by saying I have no evidence for any of this. But I think I know what might have happened to her, and I want people’s opinions.

This girl, let’s call her Nevaeh, has been missing since the 6th. Her parents went to bed around 10pm, as did her younger brother, and when they woke up the next day, Nevaeh was gone.

The police were called, and they searched all around her neighborhood, but found nothing. They searched the local parks and stuff like that too, but nothing. I heard the police are starting to think she’s dead now, but I don’t think that’s true.

I think I know what might have happened to her, and it sounds absolutely crazy.

Nevaeh and I are in the same grade and same school, and she’s in some of the same clubs as me. She’s a really nice girl, and everyone at school was devastated when they heard what had happened.

She’s not the type to do stuff like this, and the only thing she didn’t have the night she went to bed was her phone charger. So it makes no sense for her to leave without telling anyone.

I started wondering if there was something the police hadn’t found yet.

I decided to go through all the posts related to her disappearance, and that’s when I found something really weird.

About a week before Nevaeh went missing, she made a post on Instagram with a location tag, but no picture or comment. I don’t know if this is her usual account, as I don’t follow her, but I’m assuming it is since her older cousin has been using this account to make announcements about her disappearance.

I look at the location tag, and it’s a gas station in our town, right near a school.

I look at her followers to see who might have seen it, and there’s a bunch of kids from our school, as well as some older people who I assume are relatives or family friends.

I start going through them one by one to see who lives in our area and might have seen her post.

That’s when I see a name I don’t recognize. @paulfosterrr with no profile picture and 0 followers.

I send a follow request because why not, it’s not like they’ll think I'm a weirdo or anything since I’m doing this on Nevaeh’s account, not my own.

I go back to the followers list, and the account is gone. I don’t know if I just didn’t see it or what, but I could’ve sworn it was there.

I go to Nevaeh’s following list just to see if anything else is weird, and that’s when I see the same account. She follows @paulfosterrr.

This account is also completely empty, with no posts and no profile picture. But they do have a bio that says “I’m a friend to children”. That hurts to read because if they were a friend to children, they wouldn’t have done this.

I figure I won’t be able to see anything else on the account unless they approve my follow request, so I just wait and do nothing.

I go to bed, and in the morning I get a notification from Instagram saying that Paul Foster has approved my follow request and he’s also following me back.

I rush to the app and go to his profile, and I see he’s made a post. It’s just a picture of the Clifford the Big Red Dog children’s book, with the words “thank you Clifford for the wonderful advice”.

I don’t know what that means, but I can tell it’s not good from the comments. There are only 4 comments, and they’re from pro missing people accounts.

One of them says “Clifford gave you good advice? It sounds like Clifford gave you the best advice possible. I’m so proud of you for taking it.”

Another says “Clifford told you to do this? I wish I knew Cliffords advice because I’d take it too if it worked as well as it did for you”.

They’re all comments like this, and every one of them have a bunch of likes. They must be talking about Nevaeh, and I think Paul Foster might have taken her.

But how did this account even show up on Nevaeh’s followers list? I think the only possibility is that they saw her post and followed her. That’s why I couldn’t see the account at first; they only followed her after they saw her post.

I think she met up with him and now he’s taken her.

I didn’t know what to do, so I showed it all to my dad. He said we should tell the police, so we screencapped all the stuff and sent it to them.

That was yesterday, and I haven’t heard anything from the police yet. I don’t know if they’re looking into it, but I hope they are.

I think the only lead to find Nevaeh is Paul Foster’s Instagram account, and I don’t know if the police are taking it seriously.

So I decided to take things into my own hands, and I’m blowing up Paul Foster’s account with comments.

I keep commenting and he keeps replying, with weird, cryptic messages.

At one point he told me to go read a book, and then he recommended a bunch off the top of his head. He suggested Charlotte's Web, The Baby-Sitters Club, and The Magic Tree House.

It might have just been random books, but I recognized all of them as popular children’s books.

Then, he told me that me that there’s a specific book I need to read, and that it’s on the bookshelf in my room.

Now I know this might have been just a random thing to say, but how did he know I keep my books in my bedroom?

I don’t know what book he’s talking about, but I don’t have a lot of books on my bookshelf, and most of them are from when I was a kid. There’s a few from Caroline B. Cooney and R.L. Stine, just stupid mystery books from the early 2000s meant for kids.

I started looking through them, and all the ones from R.L. Stine had written inside them in pen “Property of Nevaeh”.

Now, I have no idea why she would do this. I’ve never even met this girl that I know of, I only know of her because she went missing and she’s in some of the same clubs as me.

I don’t have any books of hers, why would she write that in all of my books?

I decided to keep commenting on the post, and I asked him why the R.L. Stine books on my bookshelf have her name written in them.

He said “everyone has their name in those books, and everyone knows what those books are for. Read the right one at the right time, and you’ll see her again.”, and then he unfollowed me when I asked what he meant by that.
