I saw a guy die in front of my eyes

This happened just a few hours ago and I am still in shock.<br>I am a medical student working in a big hospital in Moscow. I am assigned to the neuropathology department and I have to work in night shifts in the emergency room. The ER is a small room with nothing special. There is an elevated bed, that is used when there is an emergency case that needs to be operated in the OR right away.<br>I was working at my desk, right in front of the ER bed, when a paramedic crew entered the room with a patient.<br>The patient was a middle aged man, and he was in very bad shape. He was working in a construction site when a pipe fell on his face. The paramedics were saying that the man was still alive but had problems breathing.<br>He was put on the elevator bed and he was still alive when the doctors were trying to examine him.<br>Suddenly, he started to move around and because he wasn't fixated, he fell on the floor with a big hit.<br>He screamed in pain at the top of his lungs and then he got quiet. I saw the look of his face and I knew that something went wrong. I don't know if it was because of the pain or something else, but he was gone. I can't describe what I felt in that moment.<br>It was around 5 am and I couldn't sleep after that. I can't get the image of that man screaming in pain and then dying out of my head. I am still in shock right now and it's 2 pm (Moscow time).
