When does a purchase go from "treat" to "investing in myself"?

I've been really trying to save money and I've been doing well at it, but I recently bought a few things and it made me think about this question. I'm not sure when a purchase stops being a treat and becomes an investment in myself, but I think it has to do with whether the item is something that will improve my life in the long term.

My examples:

- I started eating healthier recently, I finally bought an Instant Pot which I've been wanting for a while. Treat, or investing in myself?

- I also recently purchased an air fryer as well. I'm not sure how much I'll use it, but I'm planning on eating healthier, so it's another "maybe treat, or maybe investment".

- I bought a really nice coat on sale. I was a bit upset I spent money, but it was a really good deal and I know it will last me a long time and keep me warm.

- I spent money on makeup classes, is this not the definition of "treat"? But I've been wanting to learn how to do my makeup for a while, and it was even cheaper than getting my makeup done professionally once.

- I bought myself a nice purse. It was definitely a treat, but I've been looking for a nice one for a long time and I finally found the one I want.
