I want you guys to take my idea.

I’ve had an app idea for years, and I’ve recently come to the realization that I’m never going to have the time or motivation to make it. After years of thinking about it, I’ve decided to share my idea and give it away to anyone who wants to run with it.<br><br>It’s a social media app that hones in on the aspects that we actually use and enjoy, and cuts the aspects that are just manipulative and addictive. The concept is pretty simple - when you post, you can’t see the likes / comments for all of your past posts, except the ones that you are currently reading (i.e. if you’re on the app, you can see the likes for the post you’re currently scrolling through, but you cannot see the likes for the 5 posts you’ve made in the past 5 days unless you are scrolling through them.)<br><br>That’s about it. It’s a very simple thing, and it completely eliminates the need to have a separate “shadow ban” on the app, because the algorithm doesn’t have a reason to care about you in the first place. It’s a very simple idea, but the concept of it is so simple yet so profound. I’m kind of surprised no one else has thought of it yet, but I’m pretty sure that another app that went public recently had a very similar concept.<br><br>Well, I can tell that you all are excited about this idea, and I can feel the fire in you to go out and make this app, but I’m kind of lazy so I’ma just sit back and watch.<br><br>Also, if anyone wants to chat more about this idea, shoot me a pm and I’ll link you to my telegram / discord chat.<br><br>EDIT: I received a lot of requests to share more of the details that I have thought up. I have thought this idea out over the course of the past 3-4 years, and I have pages and pages of notes written about it, but I’m not going to share all of that.<br><br>Taking that into consideration, I’m not going to share everything that I have thought up because I’ve spent years on this idea. I can tell that you’re all passionate about it, but I’m not going to give away my idea to someone else because “I’m lazy” or whatever. I’m not going to insult your intelligence by not recognizing that, but I’m not going to insult my own either. I’m not an idiot, and I can’t just go and write 3 years of notes out on here.<br><br>That being said, I’d be happy to have a discussion on the topic with you, and I’d be more than happy to let you pick my brain about it. While I may not be in the headspace or have the skills to actually make the app, I am still very passionate about it, and I’m not going to let all of the time I’ve put into it go to waste.
