Last night I was casually scrolling through this sub and I came across a post (I think it was titled like “we’re having trouble conceiving” but don’t hold me to that).

The TL;DR was that a couple having trouble conceiving decided to do Sperm analysis as one of the first round of tests. She goes and orders a kit. Then, as she is preparing to take the test, she asks her husband to come and prove that it was his “contribution”. He refuses.

Then, the truth comes out - he asked a friend to take care of the cum component. He came clean, they fought about it, etc.

That story shook me deeply.

I have always known I never wanted kids, and I have been in a relationship for 10 years and married for 5. However, last week my husband started mentioning kids again, since his side of the family is full of childfrees and some are beginning to have kids.

He then was engaging in a conversation with a friend who’s girlfriend had a miscarriage and I was impressed by his level of empathy and how much that story bothered him.

I was convinced I had finally won over the “child debate” but then he started mentioning kids.

Well, reading that post just made me feel sick. What the hell do I do if my husband wants kids?

Do I just divorce him and look for someone else again?

It is so unfair. I am not being picky. I was engaging in online dating for two years before I met him and I broke up with the guys as soon as they again mentioned kids as a life goal as I was engaging in this type of dating just for fun. I used to say I would not be willing to date someone for a long time period if he wanted kids.

Then I met him, and I was sold on the idea that he also didn’t want kids. But I guess as time goes by he is supposed to be a dad!

Today’s childfree again because of this sub
