The act of being drunk is the exact opposite of minimalism

1) It can cause you to be reckless with money. Going out and getting smashed costs way more than staying home and having a beer.

2) It can cause you to act impulsively and make bad decisions. If you were planning on saving up for something, you may end up blowing all your cash at the bar.

3) You could wake up the next morning and not remember what you did with all your money.

4) You could also wake up the next morning and not remember what you did with your phone, wallet, or other important items.

5) It can cause you to be a consumerist because you just don't care as much.

6) It can cause clutter because you don't care about cleaning. You could wake up the next morning and the house could be a mess, and you may not even remember doing anything to make it that way.

7) How many horror stories have you heard of people doing something absolutely crazy while drunk and waking up the next morning with huge regret? The extreme and impulsive nature of alcohol could lead you to do something you wish you hadn't years down the line.

8) It can cause you to eat fast food or junk food. When you're drunk, you aren't thinking about the long-term health effects when you decide to go get Taco Bell at 2 in the morning.

9) It can cause you to skip responsibilities. If you have work or school the next day, you may end up calling in sick because you are too hungover. The guilt trip of missing work/school can cause you to just stay in bed all day and do nothing productive.

10) It can cause you to make poor decisions about a purchase by distorting your perception of what a "good deal" is. For example, if someone tried to sell you a case of Bud Light for $75 you would tell them to go fuck themselves, but being drunk could cause you to do something like that.

11) If you drink and drive, you could end up with a huge fucking bill from the insurance company.

12) If you drink and drive, you could end up in jail. Or worse - dead.

I could probably think of more, but that will do for now.
