Thanks to some of the helpful info this sub has provided me and all the answers I have gotten to my questions.

My goal is to own a few farms and have multiple generations of dogs that are used for hunting and are good with families.

I am still a little torn on breed because of the stereotype vs reality of a lot of breeds.

I don't want to focus on the really popular hunting breeds like Labradors or German Shepherds and would like to focus on the more "forgotten" breeds.

I have thought about the following breeds

-Blue Lacy - extremely smart, and have a high drive to please their owners
-Boykin Spaniel - extremely smart, have a high drive to please their owners, are good family dogs, and are good hunters
-English Setter - extremely smart, good family dogs, don't require a ton of exercise, and are extremely good hunters.
-Brittany - easy to groom, are good family dogs, don't require the same exercise level as German Shepherds or Labradors, and are good hunters
-Canaan Dog - extremely smart, high drive to please, can thrive in harsh living conditions, and are good hunters.

I know that these breeds will probably have a hard time selling and I am okay with that.

I just want to make sure I am doing it right. I also want to make sure that all my dogs are family dogs and are treated as part of the family and not used as just a money maker.

I know right now I am just in the planning and dream phase but I am okay with that. I want to make sure I am doing it right and these dogs are treated and taken care of in the best possible way.

If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them.
