What is the ultimate goal of philosophy?

I always believed philosophy was just a tool to help you think critically, and pretty much arrive to the conclusion that you know nothing (due to the limits of the human perception), and you just try to find your way around in the world with a certain degree of uncertainty.

But now I am questioning myself, as I came across multiple talks from people like Chalmers, Marquez or even Elon Musk, about ending suffering, understanding consciousness, the importance of free will, what is the nature of reality, and stuff like that.

So I started thinking, what is the ultimate goal of philosophy if not studying the very basics of human knowledge and then living a good life according to your experiences, studies and critical thinking.

And I wonder, is it really possible to reach these goals? Do we have the tools, the knowledge and the capabilities to answer these questions?

I would love to hear from you what do you think, and your opinion on these matters. Thanks in advance.
