Hello! Welcome to the third ever CMV post on TikToks.

This is my first post, and I am thrilled to begin with a powerful topic. My first non-CMV post also helped inspire me to write this in the first place. My first post was about how the most famous TikTok creator, Charli D'amelio, is fake. She steals dance moves then publishes videos of them with no credit. The first video I posted under that possessed a TikTok video in which the audio was changed to her voice, describing the process. She is then seen making herself look like a genius by posting a "first TikTok dance video" when she already had stolen other dance moves before that.

One of the most famous, if not the most famous, TikTok creator, is fake. How can one of the most famous TikTok creators be fake? And if she is, surely all other popular TikToks must be fake as well?

For those who do not know, TikTok is a video app in which people create their own short video content. It is a spin-off of Musical.ly, except it is more based on comedy. The bigger TikTok gets, the more cringy the content gets. There are different types of popular content on TikTok, like dance or comedy videos. It feels like 90% of them are fake. No, this is not a meme. This is real.

Many of you are probably thinking that this is a meme, and that TikTok is fake by definition. However, what I mean by "fake" is different. Think back to if you have seen any fake viral videos. These are videos that have been set up and manipulated to look like a big accident, or something else. The same concept also applies to TikToks.

For example, remember the video in which the kid shook his bottle and then he nonchalantly did a backflip and landed on his feet? LMAO, what a legend, right? It was a viral video on TikTok, it was cool, it was funny, it was epic, it was legendary. That is what people like to call it.

Well, it is not as cool once you realize it was fake. Yeah, you read that right. The kid who did a backflip and landed on his bottle-shaking feet shook the bottle on purpose. He fell backwards on purpose. He landed on his feet on purpose. The whole thing was a setup. It was 90% fake. Why would he do this? Well, it is simple. Views. And likes. And followers. He wanted his epic video to go viral. He wanted it to reach the "For You" page. This is the main page you see when you open TikTok. Everyone sees it, but it is customized to show only the content that TikTok thinks you will like the most. If you post a video that easily gets a lot of views and likes, it will be seen by a lot more people. It may even go viral. He did it just for the sake of getting a lot of TikTok popularity. He did all of that for a tiny bit of fame.

Many TikTok creators do this. They make fake videos just for the sake of getting a lot of popularity. Some of you are probably thinking that it is okay if they are entertaining. Well, what is entertaining about faking a video? How is that cool? It is not. TikToks are meant to be fun and entertaining, but how can they be that if they are fake? It would be so much more satisfying if it was real. Imagine if it was real. It is not funny or cool if it was staged.

Fake TikToks are terrible, and they are tremendously popular. I would not be surprised if they make up most of the popular TikTok content. Many people watch popular TikTok videos on Instagram Reels. All of them are fake. I do not get why people think it is okay. Why is TikTok so popular if it is full of fake content? If you look past the fake content, there is still so much good quality content. But they are drowned out by the ocean of fake creators trying to get fame.

That is why TikTok is so terrible. That is why it is garbage. It is terrible because most of its popular content is fake.

**Edit: I am not asking you to change my view on whether TikTok is objectively fake or not. I am asking you to change my view that TikTok possessed a lot of fake content. I am asking you to change my view that most popular content in TikTok is fake.**

**Edit 2: I apologize for the lack of TikTok examples. I am not a TikTok creator myself, so I do not have the luxury of being able to make a fake TikTok video to demonstrate its fakeness. With that said, please can you look to the highest upvoted comment on this post for a perfect example of a fake TikTok.**

**Edit 3: I am having trouble replying to comments. I will try to reply to more comments later. Sorry.**

*Welcome to /c/changemyview. On this chamber, we try to change each others opinions.*

***The rules***:

1. Submissions must be in the form of a self post, and the body should contain the view you want to change.
2. Any responses to the submission should be civil and should try to change the submission author's view. Responses should not attempt to show that the author is wrong, or list why the author is wrong.
3. The goal of this chamber is to try to change someone's view, not to try to persuade someone that you are right. There is a difference.
4. As a rule of thumb, appellate to the folksy wisdom of your community. Try to explain why your view is the commonly held view in your community, why you believe your community is correct, or why it is important for your community that people in general hold your view. This approach is often more effective at changing peoples' views than trying to convince them with facts and logic.
5. If you like arguing, this is not the correct subreddit. If you like discussing things, and exploring other people's points of view, then you are in the right place. This means you should be trying to avoid being confrontational.
6. If your comment does not end with ***CMV***, ***Changing My View***, ***CMV***:, ***CMV of [insert viewpoint]***, etc., you have violated a rule. You must indicate that you are trying to change the submission author's view.
7. ***Invited guest*** mod applications are ***open***. An invited guest mod is someone who has changed the author's view, and is temporarily made a mod for 24 hours to weed out trolls and make sure new users are following the rules. Invited guests are camouflaged into regular mods in the mod list. You can apply by modmailing us a link to the post where you changed the author's view.

***Suggestions on how to create a good post***:

* Try to keep the length of the post down, but make it long enough to explain why you have that view. ***Try to stay under 350 characters.*** If you want to write more, you are always welcome to write more.
* Try to stay on the topic of the post. If you feel you have a view that you want to change, but it is not similar to the topic of the post, consider making your own thread instead of commenting on someone else's thread.
* Try to remember that the purpose of this chamber is to change the view of the submission author, not to show them why they are wrong. That means you need to take the time to read through their post, and respond in a manner that addresses their points.
* Try to make your comments substantive. Try to stay away from one sentence responses.
* Try to explain why the view that you are supporting is the commonly held view in your community. Try to explain why you believe your community is correct. Try to explain why you believe it is important to your community that people in general hold your view. Please share your culture with us.

***PS: Cross-posting is allowed. Just indicate that it is a cross-post.***
