Way, way back when I was in the Army, one of my duties was standing guard at the main gate of the base and checking IDs. It was boring and cold most of the time (it was in New England) and we were only really allowed to move to stomp our feet.

There was a guy in a pickup truck that pulled up to the gate I was at, probably sometime in 1997 or 1998. I can't really remember much about him except that he was white and had some facial hair at the time. I checked his ID and it was valid, and I handed it back to him without anything out of the ordinary happening. Or so I thought. I went back to my post to go back to stamping in the cold. Literally less than a minute later, an MP Jeep pulled up and parked diagonally so they could block the entrance. Two of them jumped out and ran towards me, each going to one side of me. One of them yelled at me to not look over there, and just to keep staring straight ahead. I did, and that's when I heard the guy who was driving the truck put it in reverse and hit the gas, and stop with screeching tires right before he hit the jeep that was now blocking him. Apparently he'd threatened to shoot me when they stopped him about 5 miles down the road.

I can only assume that the guy was upset because I wouldn't let his buddy through. I remember the guy in the passenger seat was trying to hand me an ID, but I had already handed the driver his license back and told him he could go. I figured the passenger was just trying to get out and use the bathroom at the convenience store that was beside the main gate, and that he didn't have his ID on him. I didn't have any way of knowing if he had base access or not, and the rules were clear that if they didn't have an ID, they weren't getting on the base. He kept trying to hand it to me, but I kept my hand up in a "stop" gesture and repeated "no". The guy looked at the driver and said something like "baby, *I sure as shit hope we don't ever meet again*". I thought that was a weird way of saying what he meant, but didn't think much of it until the whole thing blew up in my face.

I honestly don't remember much about what happened after they took him away. I couldn't see where they took him, and my orders were to not move from my post, and I wasn't allowed to tell anyone what had just happened. I was eventually relieved and went "on post" again for the rest of the night without anything else happening. As far as I know, nothing else ever did happen.
