A little background.

I have never been what most people would call “good looking.” I have never really been the cause of a second look. I have always been pretty overweight, my hair has always been thin, frizzy, and very unmanageable. I have tried countless different products over the years, but when I was 18 I started using hairspray (aerosol) and I used it EVERY DAY for the past 9 years. It really helped my hair hold up well whenever I needed it to, but it was really expensive!

I recently was gifted hair insurance bonders (apparently good for frizzy people) and it honestly changed my life. It makes me look 10x better than I used to in a similar style to what I used to do with the hair spray. It took a lot of time and research to figure out how to use it properly (took three weeks of research, and three months to actually master it) but I didn’t even get to enjoy it for a month before it was gone. Hardly a month! It only lasted for 3 months.

I am now on what most people would call a diet, about a month now, and while it hasn’t really changed anything for my weight yet, I’ve noticed that my hair does feel healthier. It also does feel more thin and frail than it did before. I don’t know what to do! I love the hair insurance bonders, but what I was gifted was the travel/mini (1.7oz/50mL) size product and I have now found out that the full size (3.4oz/100mL) is $600. I know my hair is healthier, but I know I need to keep using it because it makes my hair look GOOD. Not good for ME, but objectively good. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to spend this much, but I feel like I don’t have another choice!

EDIT: I have read the comments but I don’t think I’m going to have time to respond to all of them. Most of you are saying that the product is too expensive. I don’t know what to do about it though. I’ve already done my research and it is a good product. I’d definitely rather it was cheaper, but I just don’t have any other options at this point.

EDIT2: I have been using the hair insurance bonders almost every day. I’m sure they aren’t as healthy as people claim they are, but they do make my hair look really good. It does desperately need to be coloured now though, but that’s a whole other issue.

EDIT3: I have taken your advice and only use the hair bonders on important days, such as when I am going out in public. There is no reason to waste it.

EDIT4: I have coloured my hair, and I am still using the hair insurance bonders daily.

EDIT5: I have now purchased the hair insurance bonders, but I have not yet received them. I have been colouring my hair (temporarily) and bleaching it myself. It’s working okay but it is really damaging so I may have to end up getting it cut short.

EDIT6: I finally purchased the full size of the product, but they were out of stock and I had to wait months. They were also very difficult to get. I am very thankful to have them, and I do still love them very much. I just can’t explain how difficult the process was! They’re still hard to get, and I desperately want to stock up but I know that I am already not financially set for that. I am just thankful to have them now. They are truly one of a kind product.

EDIT7: I have received my hair insurance bonders and I am now using them. I am not sure if I am going to use them every day, but I am using them often ? I have not told my husband yet. I am very happy to finally have them but I am a little nervous what he’s going to say. I am planning to bring them up about them in the next week. I am going to give him a tour of my hair and show him all the parts that needed them, in addition to all the other parts where I have cut the hair completely off because it was completely dead, and tell him that I need it. I have done a lot of research and I am convinced that I need it, and if he disagrees then I will just have to buy it on my own. I am going to tell him that I am considering keeping the hair insurance bonders in my safe, and if he is going to purchase it for me then he can buy it for me. If not, then I will have to buy it myself, and definitely be keeping mine in the safe.

EDIT8: I just wanted to update on this since there was a lot of interest lately. I ended up telling my husband about it and he immediately said I can’t spend that.

I tried to explain to him but he wouldn’t let me. I told him I was going to buy it anyway, and he said I was being selfish and that he was going to ask for a refund on my car.

I didn’t end up buying it, because he ended up telling my family about it and they also disagree with me. I still haven’t ended up buying it, but I do still want it. If my husband doesn’t end up buying it for me I may end up buying it anyway, but it will be a long time.

Sorry to disappoint.

EDIT9: I have posted an update on my main page, but I just wanted to let you guys know ? I am very thankful to each of you for your replies.

They were all really helpful.

I really appreciate it, and I also want to say that I understand that this product is expensive, but I really disagree with the idea that the product is “too expensive” because of its price. While it does cost $600, it is 100% worth it and when you consider that it should last 3 months, it’s more than a fair price. Yes, it is expensive, but it is not “too expensive.”

Thank you all again for your help.
